My inspiration stems from the magnificent beauty of nature that exists around us all the time, usually unnoticed and unappreciated by the average person. When I am behind the camera doing nature shoots or filming, I spend ample time looking for the perfect or most unique angle and composition, hoping to awe or inspire the viewer, so they can experience the beauty of the subject; if only in a less authentic but still captivating manner.
Living in Colorado for nearly 12 years and experiencing it’s spectacular Rocky Mountains and the magnificent beauty of its National Parks, some of my inspiration comes from nature photographers that reside in Colorado and do most of their shooting there. This includes Jack Brauer, who’s photos capture stunning landscape views captured with vibrant colors, spectacular compositions, and excellent use of light and shadows. I respect the hard work and dedication Brauer puts into his compositions, which includes getting to hard to reach locations at hours most people would find undesirable. His work is a great example of how ambition and discipline pay off and result in stunning photographs at a very high level that most are unable to achieve.
